On the recommendation of one of my friends from my longboarding meetup, I decided to check out the Seoul Food Trucks at the Night Market in Yeouido.
Where Are The Seoul Food Trucks?
You can find the market here – at Yeouido park along the Han river.
When Is It?
This market appears out of nowhere Fridays and Saturdays from 6 to midnight in the Spring and Summer, and is host to local artisans, live music, and the best of all, a plethora of food trucks.
What Is It?
With the abundance of cheap, delicious, mobile cuisine, I had no trouble convincing a few friends to join me on this expedition. Generally items cost between 3 and 6 thousand won (about 3-6 Canadian dollars). The portions are just big enough that you get your money’s worth, but not too big that you can’t eat from more than one truck (we ate from 5). The only thing I didn’t like about this festival were the lines. In the shortest lines we waited 10 minutes, but the longest was almost 40.
Pro Tip: Buy beer and bring it before you come; the only convenience store in the park that sells it will have a 20 minute wait.
My favourite food? The Spicy Chicken Pizza from GoPizza. It was a great sized pizza to share with friends, and a great snack to overlook the Han river with.
If you’re looking for a great meal before a wild night out, I’d highly recommend checking out the Seoul Night Market.
